A couple of weeks back, Danielle and Vienne went on the hunt for sushi....but only one of them ate some. Three guesses who...

Skype photos
We've been "skyping" Nana Sian quite a bit using the amazing internet program called Skype. For those of you who would like to chat with us from a distance, check out Skype, download it and lets chat!! (provided of course that you have a functional webcam)
Anyhow, over these last few weeks, Nana Sian has taken the occasional picture using her computer and Skype. The following are some pictures she's snapped, pardon the graininess, but it is using a computer's webcam.

TROLL ATTACK!!!
We don't want to say publicly who it was but a certain jealous clone sent an evil troll to bite Vienne's ear and generally cause a ruckus. It was not appreciated in the slightest.
CLONES!!!!
Don't ask us how - cause its a rrrreeeeaaaaalllllyyyy long story - but somehow we accidentally cloned Vienne tonight and we just happened to catch her clone on video. Danielle and I talked about it for awhile and wrestled with a decision, but for now, Vienne's clone will live in our attic. But I have no doubts that she will continue to make cute video appearances here on Vienne's World, so stay tuned!!

Happy Birthday to...well, me!
Since we will be back east in Massachusetts during my actual birthday on November 20th, my two sets of folks treated little ole' me to back-to-back dinners out on the town!
First, on Saturday, Danielle, Vienne and I ate "endless shrimp" with Grammy Susan and Granddad Jim, at the Salem Red Lobster. It was a delicious precursor to the Oregon School for the Deaf's haunted house, which we went to following dinner and dropping off Vienne at Grammy Chris and Cindy's for a little grandma time. The haunted house was cool, well worth the $10 admission, but still, it left something to be desired. I guess for me, it boiled down to that I was expecting more intensity and scares since the Extreme Makeover show revamped it for their television show, seen here.
On Sunday night, Grammy Chris and Cindy and Auntie Awa took us out to dinner at Lovely's 50/50 on Mississippi Street. Without question, this was one of the best meals I've ever had in my entire life! I started off with a mixed greens salad with roasted hazelnuts, apples and Gorgonzola cheese on it! Then Danielle and I shared a 12" pizza consisting of squash, house made sausage with a sage and brown butter sauce. Finally, for dessert, I had two half scoops of homemade ice cream - mint and malted milk ball - on a homemade waffle cone. OMG, to die for.

Anyhow, my sincerest thanks to my entire family for your love and generosity!!

Found: video footage from Vienne's earliest of days
Again, our most heartfelt apologies go straight to Redz, Auntie Awa, Grammy Susan and Granddad Jimmy for the delay in getting this video footage up onto Vienne's World. This video footage once was lost, but now it has been found. Hallelujah!! :)
Vienne is only 5 days old in this video as it was shot on August 21, 2010.

Found: precious footage from Vienne's 1st weeks!!
Our sincerest apologies to Auntie Carol, Uncle Paul, Cousin Tammie and Lil' 2nd Cuz Alyson for completely losing the video footage seen below. I've shot about 20 tapes worth of footage since V was born and some of it got lost on our computer, but was recently discovered. So, yay!
Again, sorry C, P, T, and A for the extended delay in getting this wonderful video footage up on Vienne's World. You all are a very special part of Vienne's life and we look forward to a Eugene visit sometime in early December!!

HALLOWEEN 2010!
No costume this year for Vienne (or for none of us, for that matter) because every cute costume we found were WAY too big for her. Of the ones we did see, our favs were a lioness, tootsie roll and girl pirate. So...we bought her a 12 mos. old sock monkey costume in preparation for next year.
Danielle and I spent the early part of Halloween getting portrait photos taken of Vienne. Then we went shopping at Trader Joe's. We arrived back at the house around 2pm and after putting the groceries away, we began to decorate our front yard and porch.
We created a graveyard, complete with a skeleton erupting from the earth plus various body parts and bones scattered about. In the bush was our sinister bat friend, waiting to pounce. Up on the porch, we had lots of spider webs, a strobe light, dense fog, an animated painting, a pair of ghoulish creatures "hanging" out, a deadly rat, a giant spider, a bat flying overhead, lots of candles provided by our roommate, Courtney, and some spooky music and other haunted house sounds! We finished up around 7pm and anxiously awaiting the trick-er-treaters. Last year, no one - I repeat, no one - came a knockin' on our door, but this year, we were stoked to have about 10 brave kids make the trek up to our door. We could even hear a couple of them crying and freaking out on the porch. Parents can be so cruel right? haha
On the day after Halloween, Danielle went shopping for more Halloween props for next year and we got lots of cool stuff at 75% off the regular price! Halloween 2011 (wherever we may live then) will be awesome...check back then for video and pics.
Below, is a video of our decorations and Vienne's role in the whole adventure.

Studio portraits coming soon!!
YAY! Danielle and I are so excited about our forthcoming studio portraits with Vienne! We asked our friend, Heather, to take some professional snaps - indoors and out - of Vienne and us a family. First, we started off in Heather's studio against a black backdrop. We brought several outfits for Vienne (including her birthday suit!) as well as some cutsey props like Danielle's old teddy bear from when she was Vienne's age. After about an hour indoors, we noticed that we were blessed with a sunny (but nippy) day outside and we took advantage of it by cruising up the road to the rhododendron garden across from Reed College in S. E. Portland. While there weren't any visible rhododendrons in bloom, it was quite breathtaking nonetheless. Heather snapped our photos - solo with Vienne as well as family shots - next to waterfalls, ponds and fountains. Through the whole process, Vienne was just a dream. She posed and posed and posed with a smile on her face throughout. It wasn't until much later, at the gardens, that she started to become cranky, then eventually fell asleep in mid-photo shoot. That was a sign to call it a day and head home to prepare for Halloween!
